A DUI sobriety checkpoint conducted by the Boone County Sheriff's Department produced 10 arrests out of the 50 vehicles checked, Sgt. Brian Leer said yesterday in a news release.
Deputies conducted the DUI checkpoint from about 1 to 2 a.m. yesterday at the intersection of Brown School Road and Providence Road.
The arrests included the following: four people on suspicion of DUI; two people on suspicion of driving with suspended or revoked driver's licenses; one person on suspicion of possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana; one person on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia; one person on suspicion of a liquor law violation; and one person on suspicion of outstanding warrants.
A citation also was issued for a stop-sign violation, Leer said, and the department gave 22 verbal warnings.
The DUI checkpoint was funded through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation's Division of Highway Safety.
